Our tutor Julian posted up some links on blackboard which were three TED Talks, in relation to responsive architecture. They were all very informative and used great communication methods, however the second one I watched; Turning Dunes into Architecture, was very interesting.
Magnus Larsson has proposed to create a 6000km long 'artificially solidified sandstone' structure/wall through the Sahara Desert. This will create dwellings for the local people, provide space for vegetation to grow, and protect the nearby villages from desertification.

The solidified wall is created using bacillus pasteurii, a "microorganism, readily available in marshes and wetlands, [that] solidifies loose sand into sandstone", this is a completely sustainable approach to building, as it is a matter of natural components reacting with on another a solidifying. This is a very strong form responsive architecture, and it would be amazing to try incorporate his 'responsive method' into my design for this theme.
